Troubleshooting Steps
1. Check Browser Permissions
First, make sure notifications are enabled in your browser:
Chrome:
- Click the lock icon in the address bar
- Find "Notifications"
- Set to "Allow"
Firefox:
- Click the lock icon
- Click "Connection Secure" > "More Information"
- Go to "Permissions" tab
- Allow Notifications
Safari:
- Go to Safari > Settings > Websites
- Find Notifications
- Allow for earnitgrid.com
2. Check In-App Settings
- Go to Settings > Preferences
- Find Push Notifications
- Make sure notifications are enabled
- Check that specific notification types are turned on
3. Check Quiet Hours
If you have quiet hours enabled, notifications won't arrive during those times:
- Go to Settings > Preferences > Push Notifications
- Check "Quiet Hours" settings
- Adjust times or disable if needed
4. Check Timezone
Make sure your timezone is set correctly:
- Go to Settings > Preferences > Push Notifications
- Verify the timezone matches your location
- Update if incorrect
5. Re-enable Notifications
Sometimes re-enabling helps:
- Go to Settings > Preferences > Push Notifications
- Disable all notifications
- Wait a few seconds
- Re-enable notifications
- Accept the browser permission prompt
6. Clear Service Worker
For PWA users:
- Go to Settings > Preferences
- Click "Clear Cache"
- Reload the page
- Re-enable notifications
Platform-Specific Issues
iOS Safari
Push notifications require iOS 16.4+ and the app must be added to Home Screen (PWA).
Android
Make sure:
- Battery optimization isn't killing the browser
- Do Not Disturb is off
- Chrome is allowed to send notifications in Android settings
Desktop
- Check system notification settings (Windows/macOS)
- Make sure browser isn't blocked by system firewall
